Now, this master of horsehide is opening up a new frontier with cowhide. At a time when horsehide receives so much attention in the leather jacket industry, BOOTES challenges that trend and aims to bring cowhide back into the spotlight. A brand definitely worth watching!! BOOTES【URUS】 The URUS is inspired by a vintage single riders jacket made by “L” as a custom order for “T”. One of the most impressive details is its luxurious construction: There are no seams running through the sleeves, and the back is made from a single large piece of leather. A truly exceptional leather jacket!! Special 1.5 mm Steerhide The URUS uses the same exceptional cowhide originally selected for the BOOTES ARCTURUS. Raw hides measuring over 3 mm thick are carefully selected and then split down to approximately 1.5 mm specifically for the URUS. The leather is full vegetable-tanned and finished with an aniline-style finish, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural character of the steerhide. ※ The finishing concept is the same as that used for one of FINE CREEK LEATHERS’ signature models, the Richmond 🙇‍♂️ The cowhide features beautifully pronounced and varied grain, yet it breaks in and conforms to the body much more easily than its rugged appearance might suggest. As you continue wearing the jacket, the leather develops a richer and more sensual natural sheen. With further wear and friction, the surface gradually reveals the brown core underneath, creating an incredible vintage character over time. The balance in the placement of the leather panels is also exceptional. Areas with bold, pronounced grain are carefully balanced against smoother sections of the hide, giving the entire jacket a beautifully considered appearance. The way it conforms to the body, the pattern, and the overall silhouette are all extremely well executed.
