Inspired by vintage garments, the brand recreates classic designs using a variety of leathers. While horsehide remains a core focus, special attention should also be given to FINE CREEK & CO’s original deerhide recipes, which bring a unique sense of familiarity and authenticity to each garment. Under Zaki-san’s philosophy that “each design requires a specific leather, texture, and finish to be fully realized,” only carefully selected leathers produced through original tanning recipes are used. Every stage of production—from pattern making and cutting to construction—is handled by specialists dedicated to their craft. FINE CREEK & CO Harris Deer Among the FINE CREEK & CO lineup, deerhide plays a major role. Introducing the Harris Deer, a D-pocket double riders jacket inspired by a legendary 1940s motorcycle jacket. Originally released in horsehide, the Harris was completely re-engineered to be expressed in wapiti deerhide. Taking into consideration the leather’s character and visual appeal, Zaki-san redesigned the pattern from the ground up, revising every detail—from panel layout and construction to stitching and overall balance—until he was completely satisfied with the result. Leather The leather used is premium wapiti deerhide. Originally measuring approximately 5.6mm thick, the hide is split down to 2.6mm, then vegetable-tanned, drum-dyed through the core, and finished naturally with a rich oil content.
