After countless trials and refinements, he carefully selected and perfected the horsehide specifically for this line. He then personally chose pattern maker and sewing craftsman Mr. Arima and one other craftsman, wanting these two highly skilled craftsmen to create each jacket from beginning to end while fully demonstrating their abilities and potential. This is the concept and passion behind the Lux Line. From the Lux Line: 〜FINE CREEK LEATHERS〜 【Triangle】 Horsehide Triangle represents a return to the origins of FINE CREEK LEATHERS. It was designed to maximize the natural potential of the leather so that the wearer can experience even more dramatic aging and evolution over years of wear. New construction techniques are incorporated during production to make details such as puckering become increasingly pronounced as the jacket is worn. This is truly a leather jacket made to be worn hard and enjoyed through its transformation over time. In true FINE CREEK style, the leather cutting and panel placement are carefully considered to retain an authentic American character. The texture, grain, natural bloodlines, and tiger-striping of the horsehide are all placed with an incredible sense of balance, creating a beautifully rugged appearance. The silhouette provides extra room through the shoulders and chest, incorporating an American-style inverted-triangle proportion. Although the overall silhouette has a strong American influence, every curve has been carefully refined. Areas that should be sharp are made sharper and more solid, while each individual component has been shaped to create a clean and beautiful overall silhouette. The waist is strongly tapered and shaped to follow the body, creating an exceptionally balanced fit. HORSEHIDE The main body uses 1.8mm–2.0mm thick, full vegetable-tanned horsehide. First, the leather is produced using the same sandwich-dyed, natural-finish horsehide recipe used for the LEON. Then, on top of that, it receives the finishing treatment used for one of FINE CREEK LEATHERS’ signature models, the Richmond. Because the black dye finish of the LEON and the black finish of the Richmond are layered together, this leather has what may be the deepest and richest black appearance of any FINE CREEK LEATHERS product. The thickness is the same as the LEON, but because the finishing process seals the leather surface, it initially feels slightly firmer than the LEON and offers a wearing feel closer to the Richmond. The aging process is also extremely unique. At first, like the Richmond, the leather has strong plasticity and develops fine wrinkles and accordion-like creases. As it continues to age, the black layer associated with the LEON begins to emerge. Eventually, with further abrasion and wear, the brown core underneath starts to appear. This creates an aging process that is different from both the LEON and Richmond — one that develops more slowly and can be enjoyed over a much longer period of time. This is Mr. Yamazaki’s completely original horsehide recipe. DETAILS The body lining is made from cotton flannel, while the sleeve lining uses cotton twill. An interior pocket is also included. For the facings, underside of the collar, and underside of the cuffs, specially produced horsehide with the Richmond finishing treatment is used. These details make the jacket surprisingly comfortable and easy to wear despite its substantial appearance. The buttons are individually carved from genuine buffalo horn, demonstrating the attention to detail throughout every part of the jacket. FIT I am 170cm / 60kg and wear a size 38. For customers who already own leather jackets from FINE CREEK LEATHERS or related FINE CREEK brands, I believe your usual size should generally work well for this model.
